SESDAC, Inc, Vermillion, a non-profit organization, is seeking its next Executive Director!  We are looking for a leader with high integrity, transparent and open communication, as well as the ability to enthusiastically convey the organization's mission to "build community resources to create a person centered life for the people supported by our organization".

 You must have experience in the Human Services field: planning, organizing, directing and coordinating an agency to meet the needs of the people supported.  Your background should include knowledge of state and national accrediting and licensing standards, as well as leading a strong team of Directors in their perspective roles.  You will report directly to the Board of Directors for SESDAC, Inc for direction and accountability.

 As the Executive Director, you will be the face of the organization, working closely with the Community, the SESDAC team, the People Supported, the Vermillion Public Transit, as well as the Board of Directors.  Don't miss this wonderful opportunity!

 Responsibilities include:

  • Manage operations of all components of the agency's supports and services
  • Oversee all operational aspects of the Vermillion Public Transit
  • Oversee the Family Support Programs
  • Assist the Board of Directors in establishing and adhering to standard agency policies and procedures
  • Establish and maintain standards of service to gain certification and accreditation from accrediting bodies
  • Oversee and insure adequate keeping and updating of all pertinent agency records
  • Maintain effective channels of communication with the Board of Directors, staff members, People Supported and their families
  • Oversee grant activities, working closely with the Project Director and other personnel
  • Develop long range planning for the agency
  • Oversee the Director of Finance in preparing loan applications
  • Oversee the duties of the Director of Human Resources, including recruiting, retention and discipline
  • Oversee the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures
  • Prepare and monitor an annual operation budget with the assistance of the Director of Finance
  • Oversee comprehensive financial records and fiscal reports
  • Monitor the receipt and disbursement of all agency funds according to the guideline of the Board of Directors
  • Oversee all agency fund raising activities
  • Expand and enhance the agency's professional and leadership role through providing consultation to other agencies, as well as attending conferences and training seminars
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with other social service organizations in the community
  • Develop working relationships with state and local governing boards and officials
  • Proactively address challenges in the internal and external environment to protect business interests
  • Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications and Requirements include:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in a field directly related to Human Services
  • Four or more years of proven experience as an Executive Director or equivalent position in a Human Services field
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful strategic plans
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of accounting, financials, budget management skills, decision making and strategies
  • Demonstrated evidence in successful fundraising
  • Experience leading, building, and working effectively with a Board of Directors
  • Strong aptitude for verbal and written communication, presentation, and relationship development
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in management and governance, specifically in a non-profit organization

Competitive compensation starting salary of $70,000 to $75,000
